I grew up in a ceramic shop in my teens. My mother went from hobby to business and talked my father into buying a ceramic shop. Later on my dad built ceramic kilns and potter's wheels and through him I learned about people like Peter Voulkos and Otto and Vivika Heino. I had some instruction and threw some pots, and also did a lot of ceramic tile murals for commercial and private projects.
