- View from the Park Manor Hotel -

In 1996 I was hired by the San Diego Opera Company to paint some backdrops for a Vegas Seminar and they treated artists nicely and gave me a nice suite at the Park Manor Hotel across from Balboa Park. You could see the park in one direction and the ocean in the other. I used the dining area as a studio and painted watercolors after work. This was the view straight out the window. I sold the painting through an online New York art auction, but always liked it. I painted it letting the paint flow and not worrying so much about maintaining perfectly straight lines.
